"The Coming Of Shadows."

"The decision is made," a silken voice purred in Drokari.
"Yes. We know." The female sounded harsh. The grey shadowed image wavered; the form indistinct.
"Then we are agreed?" she asked softly. The hope in her voice was a bare tremor controlled by the anticipation of the answer.
"The die is cast," the harsh tones agreed. "You must uphold your part of the bargain. It must be done before the Treaty is signed."
"And you *will* uphold yours.." the silken voice held a note of authority now. "I want them dead. All of them. There must be nothing that prevents my coronation. House Renshii will rule Drokar."
"You *will* be Queen, Versharra," the voice confirmed. "What must be done is up to you. All is ready."
"Very well. So be it. It begins," Versharra sighed and the sheer exhilaration of the moment was sublime. She lifted a delicate wrist and touched her bracelet. "The word is given Bo'chur'a," she gave the instruction that set pre-made plans in motion. The image wavered again and vanished. Its' absence allowed Versharra a moment of private reflection. She laughed softly and stretched out upon her huge bed. It was starting already she knew.
With a touch of her bracelet once more she summoned her favourites, and as the Rennari female and Drevaki male entered she laughed once more, "Please me," she ordered in a sultry voice, and with open arms she welcomed their attentions.

The Romulan Warbirds uncloaked. Thirty eight D'deridex Class vessels fired plasma torpedoes at point-blank range. They were in close orbit. The planetary defense platforms and communications arrays were obliterated almost simultaneously. The secondary weapons fired at strategic ground based defenses; most of which were unaware of the enemy presence due to the failure of Drokar's strategic warning systems under the control of House Renshii. The mine fields had been mapped. The outer defenses had been penetrated by Romulan scout vessels for the last four years. The negotiations, so painstakingly stretched over years had allowed the Romulan Star Empire to do what it did best; assay defenses and infiltrate; and there-by subjugate.
At the feast celebrating the impending signing of the Drokari and Klingon alliance; an alliance that ended the courting of the Drokari throne by the Ambassadors of the Romulan Star Empire, the Klingon General Hoj'uK and the Royal personage of Queen Lorana were surprised by the sudden brightening of the Drokari night sky.
The several hundred shimmering forms materializing in the Royal Palace heralded the arrival of the Reman shock troops under the command of Preator Valeg; a vicious Reman commander who had very specific orders. The killing started and continued long into the night.
The first wave of Romulan fighters streaking over the Drokari planet's deserts made short work of the air defense systems and the few craft that rallied in a bitter fight that continued for almost a full day and a half.
The invasion began in earnest when the transports arrived. The fighting was bitter; and the Drevaki died by the thousands as they tried to withstand the might of a stellar empire bent on one more conquest.
